I personally only know one lawyer, my familys lawyer. While he said he would give me a letter of rec and "show me around the court room", I would really like more experience. I am in undergrad, should I just call firms in my area to try find one who would let me help out for maybe a day or two? ( dont want to call it "shadowing", not sure what to call it , like people appyling to med school shadow doctors to put on there app.) Any help would be appreciated, thanks.

Does your university's poli sci program or pre law program have any opportunities?

Not that I am aware of, nothing to the extent that I mentioned. Not an "internship", just a few days or day of being around lawyers or law.

for something this informal your best option really is to just go through a friend or a family member.
