Not using any academic LORs...

I have transferred five times and have not gotten close to any professors, I was thinking of forgoing the academic LOR route in favor of people who can actually write about me. How much will this be frowned upon? Has anyone else done this?

How many years have you been out of school?

Not a good idea unless you've been out of school for a while. Like 3 years, minimum.

In b4 OP suggests going to a crappy school with the intention of transferring up.

But seriously, you can't get even a TA to write you a letter?

I wasnt necessarily close with any of my teachers, they knew of me and knew I was a genius and did well in their courses but didnt know what a wonderful person I was and am. I would assume you must have had at least a couple teachers who remember you and if you did good work can at least write about you getting a good grade or showing promise through a presentation or paper you did. Then compliment those, perhaps, vague references with 1 or 2 outside academic LOR's from people who know you well and can back up whatever story you want to present to admissions people.

Kind of trailing on Op's post with a different variant of this question: Do you think it is OK if you use a letter from a previous boss and a letter from a professor? (I'm K-JD).
