Like...seriously? A long time ago I told her about the dangers of attending a crap school. She, of course, always responded skeptically with a, "Are you surrrrrrrrre? There's no way that could happen." Watching these updates is almost like watching someone cluelessly heading toward their doom. Should I say something to her?

I wonder how true this is. Are there a healthy sized group of people coming out of TTTTs and TTTs with a job because they know someone? If nothing else it seems to be very limiting way to plan out your future "I'm going to go to a school with terrible job prospects on the assumption that the people I know who may help me now will definitely be able and willing to help me later".

I met a young lady in a class last year (her last class, no less). She only applied to four schools: U of M, MSU, Wayne State, and U of D Mercy. She was rejected at the first two and accepted to the last two. She decided upon Wayne State.

Because our relationship had developed past friendship (i.e. I smanged her), I begged her to reconsider and retake the LSAT. I linked her to law school transparency and provided her with information on the job market for lawyers. She was not dumb, but she refused to listen to reason and she hadn't even started yet. For every valid and reasonable comment I had, she would reply with:

"It's all about connections. It's who you know."



Though this may be anecdotal, I would hazard a guess that this scenario plays out more often than "oh, thanks for helping me out and educating me".

If it makes you feel less guilty, give it a shot, but I wouldn't hope for much.

Even crazier, when I brought up TLS, the 2L didn't even know what it was...how the hell do you apply to law school without TLS??!!
