Letter of Recs

Post by wtrc » Tue Aug 21, 2012 11:33 am

Two options, should I get a letter of rec from my boss at:

1) A consulting firm where I interned for over a year. Will get a great rec.

2) My current position, which looks a lot more prestigious than an internship. But I've only been there 3-4 months, and while it will be totally positive, obviously not as thorough because I've only been there a few months.

What's better to send?

Thanks!

I would probably send the first. LORs are supposed to be from those who know you best and can attest to your potential to succeed in law school. Given that your boss from the first place knows you better, the LOR would probably be stronger.

The first one. Substance matters much more than prestige here.

If have to choose, first one. But why not both?
