Help ease my anxiety about applying in late October

My original plan was to take the LSAT in June and apply as soon as applications opened, but due to a variety of personal reasons, this turned out to be impossible and instead I'm taking it in October. Assuming scores are back by about the 20th, would I be at any disadvantage by applying at that point in the cycle? Would it affect my ED chances? I'm likely going to ED to NYU or Columbia (unless I really bomb my LSAT) if it makes any difference.

Nice and helpful. Not sure what I really expected from TLS this late anyway

didn't apply till mid to late november for most of my apps, got into NYU and CLS. especially if you're EDing I can't think why it would make any difference. "Late" is more like post-Thanksgiving or post Christmas even.

I applied in late January for NYU (29-30th) and Feb 6th at Columbia. In fact I included an incorrect LoR at CLS and didn't complete my app officially until 3/13.

This wasn't ED so I can't speak to that, but applying late wasn't a big issue this year. Schools accepted students off wait lists and late apps in droves. If you have competitive numbers, stop worrying about late October being an issue.

this is pretty much what I meant. i think most of your anxiety is probably coming from not knowing your lsat score than having to apply [late for early people].

Relax. Applying in October is EARLY.

Okay, that's great to know. I didn't really have any idea of what "early" or "late" really was. Thank you.

Early is before Thanksgiving; late is January onwards.
