Figured it'd be a good idea to start a fee waiver tracker thread for this upcoming application cycle...So far for me: Seton Hall

Florida Coastal also said they'd waive the fee, but that definitely applied to all June test takers (the email said so). I'll edit this post as changes occur.
Did you pay for CAS yet? Did you get an academic summary report?

OP, you should be updating your first post to keep track ofthe fee waivers...otherwise that defeats the point of making a thread to keep track of them.

I've gotten all the ones mentioned above minus Georgetown, though they may have given me one last cycle that's still active. I can't remember.

Tagging, I've only gotten Seton Hall so far, and UCI I think mentioned there is no app fee at all :o

"Tagging" is unnecessary. Just use the bookmark this topic button at the top.

@ VasaVasori, you may want to move the part about updating your post to the top of your post so other people can see you're the one doing the updates (since the OP isn't and probably wasn't the best person to start the thread if he/she isn't going to update the first post)

UW (a school I was already intending to apply to) sent a CAS inspired (I'm assuming) email encouraging to apply with my numbers. Even though it's early, is this a good time for me to respond and request a merit waiver? If so, is it appropriate to reply to their email or is that a bad idea? In case it's relevant, I'll also be visiting their representative at the Bay Area LSAC forum next week.

Cheers in advance.

Thanks, will do. I'll post here with the outcome.

Also perhaps relevant question to this thread: for those of us who had complete profiles for '12 and didn't apply (too late in the cycle), is it appropriate to refer to an unsolicited fee waiver granted in 2012 when requesting for 2013 (assuming, of course, that we don't get another unsolicited before submitting the application)?

Vasa: were those requested or unsolicited?

@VasaVasori, OP has very few posts so he might not check the thread/update as much as you will. If you could update with everyone's posts that'd be great. I can give a digest email every day if that helps.

How do you know if you got a fee waiver? Did you get an email or do you see it on your LSAC login page?

How early would it be to try to solicit fee waivers from schools in my range of scores? There's a few schools I know I'm going to apply to and I'd be curious to see if they'd let me apply for free.

Schools are still filling their entering class for Fall 2012. Best wait until August as it usually only takes a week max to get a reply.

You could always just start a new thread and update it? Doesn't seem worth it for you to e-mail someone else to update the second post of this thread.

I wonder what prompts these fee waivers. I now got the Valpo one and the SMU one that were already mentioned, plus the UofA begging email I read about here. BUT no contact at all from most of the schools that VasoVasori mentioned, other than normal spam from Florida Coastal and Mississippi College.

I wonder if some of those are because he retook or something, since the rest of us seem to be getting pretty much the same waivers.

171 3.9x I got a fee waiver!
But I feel like you can just ask them for one if they don't give it to unsolicited, since they seem to be big on the whole giving out fee waivers thing :-)

Utah emailed and told me to reference the correspondence with the rep at the table for a fee waiver. I know people here aren't big on LSAC forums, and who knows if I'd have gotten the waiver otherwise, but this is already looking like a worthwhile BART trip.
