So humble that he brags about not humblebragging? That's pretty meta.

What was wrong about this statement? Law school is extremely risky and your coworker's friend likely went to Cooley. Seems a pretty reasonable set of statements.
It's not so reasonable to use an unrepresentative example "Cooley" [law school] to support an argument about "law school" in general. The argument is flawed because of that scope-shift.

Nevertheless, I get it. Cooley sucks, and the market is bad right now. But Cooley is not a normal, respectable law school, and these are not normal times.

This. My family asked this all of the time the first time I took it. They assumed I failed it because Im choosing to retake.

Tell them you didn't fail it, you got the equivalent of a "C" (or whatever) and you're retaking because you want an "A".

Southwestern.
Same thing happens as I live in NorCal/Bay Area: I say I'm going to law school this fall and people's (usually old white dudes) first reaction is "which one? McGeorge?"

Both Southwestern and McGeorge are big though :)

Exact same thing with me - which always struck me as odd because I had literally never even heard of McGeorge before that. Why is that the first one people think of? It's not like it's the big, local state uni that everyone knows and therefore assumes is great. Seems so random.

I was in a full-length Testmasters prep course and there was a girl one class visiting from California who sat in on ours for a day. After she had read a LR stimulus about zoning laws, the instructor asked her:

Instructor: "So _____, what would be your approach to this question?"
Girl: "I'd just skip it."
Instructor: "Ok that's potentially reasonable, why would you skip it?"
Girl: "Because it's boring!"
Instructor: (pause) "You would skip it because it's BORING!?"
Girl: "Yeah, plus I don't care about zoning laws."
Instructor: "YOU WANT TO GO TO LAW SCHOOL AND YOU WOULD SKIP IT BECAUSE IT'S 'BORING'!?"

Needless to say but he didn't call on her for the rest of the class.

True, since you have to either explain how that question is nonsensical (and sound kind of dick-ish) or just say "yes".

Yea I mean it can come off ok, but when you tell someone they don't know what they are talking about and go on to explain it it just sometimes comes off as pretentious of as more information than they cared to learn. But then again I'm a little neurotic because everyone tells me I come off as a dick in just normal situations so that may be what's happening there lol.

Gee, do you think the sheer number of unemployed lawyers vs scientists may be the reason their complaints are more audible? Not that lawyers are dumber/whinier/greedier? (Though that is probably true). Maybe he should try applying Occam's razor to his own reasoning . But honestly, I have no idea who this guy is, I clicked on the link thinking it said "John Marshall strikes again" haha.

Someone can't shut up about their friend getting courted by tons of law schools because he studied abroad and wants to get in to international law.

Maybe thats why international law doesn't really exist. Not enough people study abroad.

Well, this is not wrong, just found it hilarious.

Was visiting law schools in Boston area yesterday, BU, BC and HLS.

After visiting BU, I was studying the T-map and a really kind girl approached me and asked: Do you need any help?

I said: Do you know how can I get to harvard law?

She replied: Have you taken the LSAT?

In Minnesota, it's the same with William Mitchell. It's kind of a hard statement to respond to.
