Ranking of T14, from most to least prestigious

Today I was discussing law schools with my parents. After dropping serveral extremely good law school names, they seemed unimpressed (UPenn, Duke, UVA, UMich). My dad was like, "If you get into Georgetown, you will go there over UVA!"
Is this mismatch between actual rankings and lay people's prestige rankings typical? I obviously won't let it affect what school I inevitably choose, but it was pretty striking to me (hence this post).
P.S.: If any of you want to make a prestige list of the T14, feel free. I'm actually pretty interested.

In before the ton of sarcastic "no, this has NEVER been discussed before!" comments.
And yes, this is typical. Lay prestige never matches up with actual prestige within law. And also, it varies by region.

Close. We are Greek (see my tar). But Greek immigrant families are pretty neurotic too.

Not sure if I agree with Columbia and Chicago being more prestigious than Stanford or with Georgetown being more prestigious than Duke.

welp, I think we've established in a short number of posts that since there isn't agreement within the lay community pertaining to prestige, fuck it.

Nice. Surpised that ppl from other regions think Duke is so prestigious. Never thought of it that way before (From NE originally).

I can basically agree with that, although I think U Chicago has more lay prestige than most ppl give it credit for.

I live in the NE and see Duke as being the most prestigious non-ivy behind Stanford MIT and Caltech.
Definitely have always viewed Duke as more prestigious than Cornell and Dartmouth but behind all the other ivies.

Same, I never thought of it that way either... still don't, but I understand the legal eduaction is great there... but then so is the education from other T 14s.
