Taking law degree overseas?

I am a 1L at a top 25 school. I have degrees in Finance and Economics. I am currently working at a firm this summer and have enjoye dit thus far but want to explore options for 2L summer. Is there a way that a person can use their JD from an American school to get a job overseas? Whether it be with a US firm overseas or even a job that would require an American JD?

Is this common? Hard to do?

Thanks

People keep telling me Shanghai is desperate for such. When I visited law schools I met about a dozen people from different schools who had paid internships their 1L and 2L years in China.
