I've been working for a boutique law firm since I graduated last year, but am moving out of the state because my significant other is starting graduate school. I am looking for a new job, preferably in a legal field, and honestly wouldn't mind having some time off to work on my applications (I'm applying for Fall 2013).
I didn't see any posts that exactly addressed my situation, mainly because I am leaving my job on very good terms with my employers and they hire college graduates with the expectation that the hires will only stay for a year or 2. If I quit my current job and don't find a new job right away, will this be a problem for my application?

No. Shouldn't be a problem. If you're worried, do volunteer work until law school starts.
