Quick Question

Still WL at my dream choices, willing to take the chance and plop down a seat deposit at another school just in case.
Question is this: The submission of a seat deposit requires me to submit online that I intend to register at the school in the fall. I called their admissions office and it isn't binding or anything. But, can the schools I am WL at see, through LSAC, that I've dropped that seat deposit and the non-binding acceptance? If they can, do they seem to understand that it is done as a "safety" option and so it wont affect the likelihood of being removed from their WL? Thank you for any help.
