Do you need to send in transcripts?

I know that some schools make you send in your transcripts (undergrad and grad) alike. Do you need to for all schools?
My school doesn't say anything about sending in transcripts at all so I'm a little confused.
I should probably ask admissions but...totally don't want to send in my graduate transcript
