If a guy is a 3.8-4.0/170-173, how much does he have to worry about having been rejected or wait-listed the previous year?

Thanks

Assuming your GPA doesn't change (you're out of school) but your LSAT score improves...and everything else remains equal...can anyone fathom a reason why a ding in a past cycle would hurt you?
