US News 2013 International Law Rankings

I'm sure that somebody somewhere paid for the "U.S. News Law School Compass & Guidebook", whatever that means. I'm just wondering what the top 21 International Law Programs are in 2013. I know that specialty rankings don't really matter; I'm just wondering. I think Temple was at 17 last year . . .

US News shows the top 11 so far (wow; Case Western at 11th, that's interesting)
1 - NYU
2 - Columbia U
3 - Georgetown U
4 - Harvard U
5 - Yale U
6 - American U
7 - George Washington U
8 - UC Berkeley
9 - U of Michigan Ann Arbor
10 - U of Virginia
11 - Case Western Reserve U

You won't work in international law, so don't worry about it.

Case at 11 is pretty interesting. I wonder if they are still taking apps.

This annoys me when stated without any qualifiers. If you speak a foreign language or two and get into a top 10 school (or Gtown), your chances are not absolutely nil. I, for one, am curious to see where SLS falls on this list and why it's ranked below Case.

Wow, this guy creates an account to post the international law speciality rankings, and then makes a big deal about Case Western coming 11th. Not suspicious at all.

To anyone reading this: DEFINITELY GO TO CASE WESTERN. You'll get a job in international law. It's just like a James Bond movie, only more exciting.

The University of Mississippi is number 1. They have a whole center for space law, with a space law journal. If you go there, you might get to be a lawyer-astronaut. Perhaps they'll name a new solar system after you.

I've heard that Mississippi isn't that insular of a market as long as you are doing Space Law, so that's good to know.

Just imagine all the poor souls NOT on TLS who take specialty rankings seriously.

I heard their moot court team finished third in a competition among intergalactic law schools. U Neptune was first.

I took a tour of McGeorge as a 0L (lol) and one of the profs mentioned about 8 times that they had a top-rated international law program. At the time, I thought it was merely fishy. Now I know it was weapons-grade bolonium.

Experience... it's the difference.
Case Western Reserve University School of Law equips students with the tools (and employability) to succeed in the 21st century global legal community. We combine an outstanding legal curriculum with experiential learning opportunities that complement and enrich the classroom experience.

Dear Tom:
At Case Western Reserve University School of Law we take study abroad to a whole new level. Where many law schools have summer programs, we allow you to study abroad for a full semester. Among our study abroad options, our newest, and perhaps most unique offering is our China program.
Our China program puts you in classes at one of the top ten Chinese law schools as ranked by the Chinese Education Ministry. Your classes will be taught by Chinese professors, teaching Chinese law, in English, for a full semester's worth of credit. You can study in Beijing at Peking University or Renmin University, in Shanghai at Fudan University or East China University of Political Science and Law, in Hong Kong at City University of Hong Kong, or in the west in Chongqing, at Southwest University of Political Science and Law.
Beyond study abroad, our China program also facilitates participation in important research and dialogue. We have agreed in principal with all of our partners to build a US-China Law Institute, a multi-university think tank populated with law professors, government officials, lawyers, and business people, to help foster mutual cooperation between our nations.
Our China program is an example of why Case Western Reserve is truly a special law school. Learn more by reading Dean Lawrence Mitchell's latest blog post.
If you would like your legal education to include this type of opportunity, apply today!
Best,
Alyson Suter Alber Associate Dean for Enrollment Planning and Strategic Initiatives Case Western Reserve University School of Law law.case.edu

Everyone knows that U Houston and FSU have the market, thanks to NASA clinicals.
