GPA upward trend question and Ethnicity question
Hello everyone,
How strong of an upward trend in GPA would make a difference in the law school application?
My GPA went from a 3.4 freshman year to a shitty 3.04 due to a lack of focus sophomore year to a 3.16 Junior year to a 3.37 end of senior year. (top university)
My Senior/Junior years, I consistently took upper div engineering and economics courses and refused to take grade boosting classes.
Also, does being Indian qualify me as a minority? I know the general opinion is NO but I wanted to know why not?
Also, would saying that I am Indian in my law school application work against me? Touchy topics I know but I'd rather have the truth.

Yes, being Indian qualifies you as a minority. No, it does not qualify you as a URM. That should be enough to answer your question.

Re: GPA upward trend question and Ethnicity question
Bummer.
Well the schools I'm mainly aiming for are maybe the last few in the top 14 and the rest in the top 20. I've pretty much ruled out the top 10.
I'm PT'ing a 167 to 171 on the lsat. Hopefully I get in somewhere. If not, its all good ima apply in four years or something ridiculous like that

Thats not a very compelling upward trend. I have a friend who after three semesters had 2.03, and graduated with a 3.45. Taking 60 units his senior year. So no

Yea true. Except that would have destroyed me if I did that with upper div. engineering and econ classes.ilovestandardtests wrote:Thats not a very compelling upward trend. I have a friend who after three semesters had 2.03, and graduated with a 3.45. Taking 60 units his senior year. So no
