Got Fee Waivers yesterday from NYU and Mich. 3.68/172.

First of all, why do they send out fee waivers 2 days before the deadline???

Second, should I bother applying?

Thanks!

IMHO If you receive a fee waiver from a school you would be happy attending, by all means apply.

They do it so they can get more applicants so when they turn them down, they look more selective. You have decent stats though, so who cares why...give it a shot. What else would you waste the $32 on?

They might have fewer applicants than they wanted for this cycle, or they might need better numbers, or they might just want to decrease their acceptance rate. It doesn't really matter why, because your stats are at least competitive for both schools and it would be silly not to send off applications to both. They're great schools.
