LOR from a Judge

There is a District court judge who taught a class I was in over a year ago, but we have kept in contact since the class. Would this be a good LOR since we have a positive opinion of each other, and I did well in the class? We had a conversation and he made it clear he would be positive in his recommendation.
My second LOR will likely come from a favorite Poli Sci prof who has a favorable opinion of me, and a third will come from my advisor in my major as I have been pretty successful in three classes she has taught.
Do these all sound like good choices?
Thanks

Depending upon what state you live in the judge may not be able to write a letter on your behalf.
In New York a judge may not write a letter of recommendation on his/ her judicial letterhead.

If you have a good relationship with a federal judge, and he can speak genuinely about you in a positive light, that is something that you should certainly take advantage of.

I should hope the judge was aware of whether or not he was allowed to write an LoR...
That was my thought exactly. The Judge should know the ethics of what he can and can't do.

LOR's seem to be allowed. There are other things that judges seem to be restricted in, however.

I had a judge write a LOR for me. No issues; in fact, he probably did an awesome job considering how my cycle is going.

As a Kansas applicant, I had a judge right a LOR for me and he did a great job. The relationship between your judge friend sounds very familiar my relationship with my judge friend, although I was never in a class taught by him. He even sent me the letter he wrote and it was very complimentary.
I'd say go for it.

Yes. While him being a district court judge probably won't weigh heavily, the positive opinion and his experience with you as a student makes him a great source for a LoR.
Ditto the other letters.
