Why would school extend their application deadline? Forum

Why would school extend their application deadline?
One of the schools I am applying to put out a notice today on their website that they are moving up their Fall 2012 application deadline to February 15, 2012 (extended from February 1, 2012)....just wondering your thoughts on why the school would do this?

The school probably received fewer apps than expected. Empty seats mean lost tuition dollars. Law schools, unlike medical schools, are a money generating business.
