What kinds of C&F issue? Speeding tickets or embezzlement?

3.65/165 won't get you in UVA unless you're URM. Forget about the ding. Not sure what to make of the other schools.

Looking at LSP, it doesn't actually look like you're underperforming your numbers too much - I wouldn't lose hope yet if law is really what you want to do. I know everyone says it around here, but have you thought about retaking?

Serious misdemeanors will hurt depending on how far removed you are from them. If you are a college grad already, why not get some WE if you are looking to move out of your parents? 3 more years in school will not get you out sooner.

"if having a decent entry level job was solid option, i probably would never have even thought about law school"

DON'T go to law school. You will likely regret it. Getting a legal job is as hard as getting an entry level job for most law school graduates. If you only want to go because you think it might make your prospects better, think about other, less expensive, less life-consuming options. Sorry, I know that's not what you wanted to hear.

Depends on the schools to which you applied, your numbers and your "serious misdemeanors".

P.S. What is a "serious misdemeanor" ?

I don't know how you expect anyone to be able to help make sense of anything when you don't provide your stats, softs, or further details on your c & f issues. Either way though what else can you do now besides ride out the cycle and see what happens.

Also, while most schools might just feed you some generic bs it wouldn't hurt to try asking them the reason behind your reject/WL and if you're lucky they just might tell you the truth or at least point you in the right direction.

Sounds like a DUI... Shouldn't hurt you too bad. I had similar issues... Just put time between the offence and your app and be honest about it. Good luck.

I love threads like these where the OP wants advice, but strives to remain as anonymous as possible. If you want legitimate advice, you need to provide us with all of the details. If you don't want to reveal anything more about yourself, then quietly and patiently wait out your cycle.

I am by no means an expert, but I have talked to tons of attorneys, admitted students, admissions counselors, deans of schools, pre-law advisors, and other folks. The problem may be that you said "misdemeanors," which indicates you may not have learned your lesson, in their eyes at least. I know someone who had a DUI, and he disclosed it, but it never ended up affecting his cycle. This is because he retained a clear record other than that. If you stoop in trms of school choice just a little bit, they will probably overlook your C & F issues completely if they don't think it will keep you from being admitted to the law. I am sorry that you are in this picke. Best of luck to you.

I'm startng to think my C&F issues are going to destroy my cycle. Should I start looking at other options besides law school at this point? i really want to be back in school by fall 2012. i have taken the gre. should i consider grad school?
that's not too shabby, so I wouldn't call it quits yet. it's only 4 applications. i'm sure you'll do fine on your other ones.

besides, all you really need is one law school.
