Top Law Schools

Is this normal? I've only heard back from 4 schools so far, and they've all been waitlists or deferrals. Why won't they just reject me? Does anyone know the reasoning for deferrals vs. rejections? It is just confusing/frustrating to me. I know I should be happy I wasn't outright rejected, but I just have a feeling they're going to reject me anyway, so it's a bit frustrating not to have an answer right away, especially since I won't know when I will hear back from them with a definitive answer.

Any ideas??

You probably have borderline numbers for the schools you're applying to, and they're waiting to see how their class shapes up before making a further decision.
