I scored a 166 in October, and that was with a weak LR section. Now my RC scores are up and i'm prepping around a 168-170


Should i apply for the 2012 cycle? How much of a disadvantage am i at in late 2012? Would a rejection hurt my chances in 2013?

I know the deadline is February 1st so i will have to submit my application with a hold, does it matter when i submit my held application?

Perhaps it would be better to just take a year off and try to get an even higher score? How hard is it to get a 4th retake and how do Law schools look at this, because if i take the exam in February that will be my 3rd retake (june+oct11+feb12)

I would go ahead and apply, but with the understanding that you will probably need to reapply. It's pretty tough to get a fourth take, now that the policy hast changed, from what I hear

i don't think a retake is really necessary for you. it seems to me that you are where you are. which is mid to high 160s. I mean, what would be the point of taking it a fourth time if you get say your high which would be a 170. I don't see a real benefit.

The thing is, given your numbers you're highly unlikely to be accepted to Cornell at this point in the game unless you have absolutely stellar extracurriculars. Though not all law schools have rolling admissions explicitly, the earlier you get in your application the better your chances if you are far from their median, and your GPA is pretty far from their median (around 3.67). As you get closer and closer to the application deadline schools become more and more picky about who they accept, simply because they don't have that pressure to fill seats. Not that you shouldn't apply at all, just giving you a realistic picture of what your odds are at this point.
