You're probably overthinking it. Admit day - business casual. Slacks/skirt & appropriate top. You don't have to go crazy with the heels. You're going to be running around all day so be comfortable, but probably keep the sneakers at home. The school should confirm that what the dress expectation is to scale down the number of douchey gunners that show up in 3-piece suits on admit day.
Class - Most people feel comfortable in jeans and t-shirt.

No it's not. I'm seriously worried about this and I put some time into selecting the outfits for this post. I'd appreciate a constructive answer to my question...If not don't bother posting.Campagnolo wrote:Flame.

No one will care either way.
The girls in my law school lean towards not caring at all what they look like when they come to class. A couple still try to look good and put on make up everyday but by finals everyone has given that up.

Agreed. The only thing I haven't seen so far, which I saw a lot of in undergrad, is people coming to class in their pajamas. Everyone (so far) seems to at least put on clothing designed for outside the bedroom, and I think someone showing up to law school in pajamas would be kinda strange, but beyond that there's absolutely no expectation that people dress a certain way and most people probably wouldn't care if you show up in pajamas.worldtraveler wrote:Dress however you want. I think that if you're already inclined to dress up a bit, you will be fine. I had a friend who went to ASW in jeans and a t-shirt and felt somewhat underdressed. It is probably true that no one will care/remember, but you should dress in a way that makes you feel confident.
ETA: Friend was dressed like 2. My vote is for 7, it seems effortless even though we know it's not

For the ASW wear business casual. For class, wear whatever you want/whatever you wore in undergrad. No one cares.

I like 7. Dress how you would normally but acceptable such as at a work place... no denim cut-off shorts with a crop top haha

For admit day, something like 7 would be nice.
At my school, on a daily basis most girls dress most like 2 or 3, although a little less scruffy than 2 and a little less tarty than 3.
Nobody wears heels, for example, unless something is going on that day (a panel or something where there are people coming in you want to impress)
Jeans, t shirts, sweatshirts are the basic dress.
I live in the pacific northwest, so there is a lot of REI fleece and cargos worn at my school, and a lot of layered leggings and tunics by the girls.

At some point you just have to throw in the towel and sport the yoga pants/sweatshirt combo.shoeshine wrote:No one will care either way.

Protip: You are not Blair Waldorf. Do not wear blouses with giant ruffles to class.

Doesn't matter, but if you're really concerned the general wisdom is that you should dress like you are meeting your boyfriend's parents for the first time for dinner at the Cheesecake Factory.

I once did this in grad school and a girl complained to the dean that she didn't think she should have to be forced to look at me in my work-out clothes.SchopenhauerFTW wrote:At some point you just have to throw in the towel and sport the yoga pants/sweatshirt combo.shoeshine wrote:No one will care either way.

Jesus. I would've been tempted to push her in front of a bus.Kimberly wrote:I once did this in grad school and a girl complained to the dean that she didn't think she should have to be forced to look at me in my work-out clothes.SchopenhauerFTW wrote:At some point you just have to throw in the towel and sport the yoga pants/sweatshirt combo.shoeshine wrote:No one will care either way.

Options 2,3,4,6 & 7 are acceptable. The idea would be to gain the respect of your peers and hold it down right.

Epic.
This in no way matters, and is absolutely the wrong thing to be concerning yourself with if you're entering law school right now.
