Is it safe to say that we won't hear from schools until after the Holidays? That bites! I'll have to brew up a new batch of triple ipa to pass the time.

I would bet there are some released this week. I doubt most school administrators start their vacation until the middle of this week at the earliest. But yes, after probably Thursday of this week there will probably not be any more announced until January

Chicago still has to release its ED decisions. Schools don't just shut down for half of December.

Cornell still has EA apps to rule on too. There's time.

Eh, I think most admission deans do a final read and being at home probably helps them not be distracted. Most also aren't impervious to the stress associated and don't want to sit on acceptance over the holidays. Michigan, for one, doesn't ding anyone over the holidays though.

I think most admissions departments do everything on the computer now anyway. Iowa's dean, Collins Byrd said in an interview that he has everything in a file management system and does it all from his laptop because he travels a lot to recruit during the admissions season. I think that as long as the apps have been looked at by other adcomm members and are good to go, I wouldn't be shocked to see an acceptance on Christmas day even. Busy people don't shut down for the holidays. My father-in-law is president of North American Operations for a big international company and he'll be on his blackberry all day on Christmas. My grandfather is a high-end realtor and he has got up from the dinner table on Christmas to go show a house before when he got the right phone call. Adcomms want this to be over as badly as we do.
