You're not screwed - your chances of getting in are just slightly lower than they would've been had you submitted a month or two ago. Get your apps in ASAP and you'll be fine.

No, you're not screwed. You chances probably would have been a bit better if you had applied earlier, but a lot of people (including me) have gotten into reach schools after applying this late or later.

I mean your chances would have been slightly better if you applied earlier, but I think you are still in a good position to apply now.
I've heard that:
Super early= before Halloween
Early=before Thanksgiving
On Time= Before Thanksgiving
Definately go for it if its what you want. If it doesn't turn out well for you, then just reapply next cycle. But there's no harm in applying now.

Since there's still a big group of people waiting to get their scores back from the Dec LSAT, submitting now just means that you're barely late (according to TLS standards) but still before a big rush. You should do it within the next week if everything is ready to go.

Last year I applied to all my schools on March 1 and April 1 and got accepted to every school I applied to (except for Tulane) with significant scholarship money. People tend to overemphasize the importance of timing on this forum, but there will always be space+$$$ for qualified applicants:) I got scholarships from T20 schools despite submitting my applications on the last possible day.

A related question: when should the people who applied after Dec. 1 expect to start hearing back from schools?

It depends on the school. I sent in a bunch of apps at the beginning of the month and was accepted at Duke yesterday. I haven't even gone complete yet at a number of other schools.

Bump because I would like this answer also.

The December decisions should be either the second to last major spike or the last major spike for schools. Since I think the first couple of spikes are for September/Early October complete people and the second/third spikes are October LSAT takers. However, this is pretty much all speculation. HTH.

I'm confused. Did you mean on time = before Christmas? Was curious about this myself

this is credited. different schools have very different philosophies, and while it may seem important that a school be prompt to you now, in the grand scheme of things it likely won't influence your decision so it pays for schools to wait, and be sure.

np. Looking at your profile, you should be In or (waitlist because of yield protect--in which case, you can write a LOCI to get off of those fairly easily) at all the schools you've listed except for Northwestern which is a 50/50 shoot imo, assuming your WE is full-time for 1 year post-graduation. Good luck!
