I'm looking at the this cycle's graphs of the t14 on lsn, and there are barely any rejections or waitlists, why is that??

Meh, if you're going to reject me... do it as quickly as possible imopaul34 wrote:I guess schools don't want to crush the spirits of applicants before the holidays.
There are exceptions to this perhaps compassionate spirit, though

I guess this is pretty self-evident, but there's no reason to reject people this early. Let's say the post-Thanksgiving applications are just atrocious--would you rather accept all those borderline cases you put aside before or become UIUC?paul34 wrote:Yea, I also share this sentiment. I think I'd rather take a harsh rejection sooner than a nice rejection later.ThreeRivers wrote: Meh, if you're going to reject me... do it as quickly as possible imo

UIUC had to fake their publicly released medians because the real ones fell significantly (LSAT fell 3 points I think). They generally use a lot of splitters to maintain their medians, so it's possible that early in the cycle they denied too many high-LSAT scorers and so were SOL we they realized their median was gonna fall. The point is, admission deans want that flexibility because applications really can go any which way and falling medians can end a career quickly.Neatrends wrote:Yukos wrote:I guess this is pretty self-evident, but there's no reason to reject people this early. Elaborate on the UIUC part please.
