Extended an opportunity to interview for GT. Is this common?

I think someone said on here before that they do interviews with boderline candidates. Hopefully more people can elaborate on this topic.

Fairly common. ~~IIRC the stats for people who are interviewed are ~40% are admitted, ~30% W/L or Priority Waitlisted and ~30% denied. HTH~~

What's the difference between regular W/L and priority waitlist? Is it just that the priority waitlistees are the first ones taken off?

I have no idea what the difference is. So far, I haven't seen an explanation on TLS.

ETA: Went back through the GULC thread and found the exact numbers. I was off on my previous post.
