Yay, my first post and this thread is definitely where I belong.

-3.78/155, retaking in December, hoping low 160's.
-Technically URM (Mexican), but not writing a diversity statement because my experience doesn't merit one so I won't be getting a boost.
-Softs include two delegations with human rights NGOs to Latin American countries, chaired my campus feminist group during undergrad, I'm a volunteer crisis counselor/advocate for survivors of rape and domestic violence, and I do a lot of unpaid work for a small transnational feminist NGO. 2 years out of undergrad but no full-time "real job" - I do the aforementioned things and I wait tables. I'm unsure how this will look.
-Targets: Loyola LA, Hastings, Fordham (which, given my 155, are sort of reaches). Hail Mary/Shot In Hell: Boalt (dream school), UCLA

LSDAS GPA: 3.81
LSAT: 164
Non-URM

Softs: Nothing particularly spectacular, but I'm an opera singer (sang with a famous symphony), and I'm writing a book about how I lost 150 pounds... I'm no longer the stereotypical fat opera singer with the horns and long blond braids!! :D

Schools: WUSTL, SLU, USC, UCLA, Boalt (yeah right), UNLV - we live in Vegas now, but my fiance and I will likely end up in St. Louis permanently, so we applied to schools around here for fun... but really, I'm hoping for WUSTL or SLU with $$$$

GPA: 3.77
LSAT: 154
Non-URM
Softs: Award winning investigative journalist. Pretty good PS. Single father. Went to school while working full time. Good LoR's from interesting people.

Schools: Everything from UCB to Golden Gate (I won't attend unless it's free), and about 15 in between. Mostly state schools in the west. I'm only retaking if I don't get in to anywhere good. I can wait a cycle.

We're almost numbers twins!

GPA: 3.7ish
LSAT: 154
Not an URM in the traditional sense, but I do have a lot of interesting experiences relating to my ethnicity, which went into my DS.
Softs: Good PS, strong DS, two years as a research assistant, second author on an article in an eating disorder/psych journal, third author on a presentation given at the Eastern Psych Association conference, strong history of community service/public interest

Schools: Drake (accepted with a $10,000 scholly--DSM is my hometown, so yay), Northeastern, American, UCBerkeley, UWisconsin.

I have one acceptance (and a scholly) so far. No other decisions yet, sadly. :c

Pretty funny story...got the call from Dugas the day before by October LSAT was released saying I was accepted, then the next day I got my score back and it was a 162...3 points lower than last time.

I wish you good luck!

Had one rejection, but I've only heard back from one school (W&L). I expect more to come rolling in in the coming weeks.

Your LSAT 164 or below
Those are practically my numbers. I'm glad to see a reverse splitter thread.

Non-URM.

A lot of good softs.

I am applying to 6 schools in my region. If I don't get into any of those by the end of December I will start applying more nationally, and to some of the schools with unpredictable admissions policies.

Thank you, and good luck to you too! Sucks about the rejection, but maybe you'll have some nice christmas admissions presents ;D

Thanks to both responses. I'm not to broken up about W&L, though it is a blow to my fragile ego to have someone reject me about a week after I went complete. You're telling me they actually read my PS and LoR's?? Oh well. I didn't want to go to their stupid school anyway... :)

I think LSAC automatically deducts a few points for using a blue pen

Seriously though, that is FANTASTIC news about UVA. A 165 is still a point below their 25th percentile for the LSAT IIRC. Are you attending UVA then? If not, I'm sure the 165 will still help as that's the only one a school would have to report for rankings.

Most likely. I sent them a letter with my plea for why, even with my low LSAT, I deserve consideration for a scholarship. Paying sticker scares me, but I guess I should have thought about that more before I ED'd..... :|

I got into UC Hastings, so I withdrew from the other schools I applied to. Success!

Incidentally, UC Hastings is revamping its admissions standards to be more reverse splitter friendly by lowering its preferred LSAT scores and raising its preferred GPAs.
