Request for more essays?

Hey everyone.
A reach law school that I applied to recently sent me an e-mail stating that the admissions committee wants me to complete two additional essays for them. I have already submitted two with my application. It is a public school and I am an in-state resident. Has this happened to anyone else? Any idea what this means or what they are looking for?
Thank you in advance!

No clue. Do you mind sharing which school?

I'm under the impression that any time a _______ (insert any object of desire) shows further, particular and specific interest in you and you are interested in them that the best thing to do is show them some love. In your case, write those essays.

I agree with the above two posters. It's a sign that although you're not an auto-admit, they're interested in learning more.

I haven't heard of Michigan doing something like this in the past. From OP's previous posts, I'm guessing it's Pitt.
Good luck on the essays! If you don't mind sharing, what did they ask you to write about?

I would imagine that if you tell the committee "no thanks", they'll probably send you a letter saying "no thanks" regarding your application. It's a bit odd that a school would want a 3rd and 4th essay, but if you're at all considering attending the school I think it's basically mandatory.
