I have an arrest for public intoxication (misdemeanor) that was dismissed "on motion of DA" when I pled no contest to a disturbing the peace charge (infraction). Some of my schools ask only misdemeanor and felony convictions. Do I have to disclose this for these schools?
How do I word this? Do I have to explain the event/say how I ended up getting arrested or can I just give the date, what the arrest was for, and the resolution?
In other words should I put:
(A) (story/explanation)
On [Date], I was arrested and charged for public intoxication. I had spent the day drinking with friends and went to a party at night. The police noticed me stumbling around the back parking lot, determined that I was drunk, and arrested me. I was charged with public intoxication, a misdemeanor. I pled guilty to a charge of disturbing the peace (infraction) and the original public intoxication charge was dismissed.
Or
(B) [no story]
On [Date], I was arrested and charged for public intoxication, a misdemeanor. I pled guilty to a charge of disturbing the peace (infraction) and the original public intoxication charge was dismissed.
Thank you so much for your help, I really appreciate it!

Thank you for your quick reply!blowhard wrote:Second one. No story.
I also have a few disciplinary issues (housing violations), should I treat them the same way or do they need a short narrative? One of them was somewhat complex so I'm including a story.

The bare minimum necessary to understand the charge. Nothing more.Milo42 wrote:Thank you for your quick reply!blowhard wrote:Second one. No story.
