Is it still worth applying to my reaches or is it too late?

So I have all my applications finished and two LORs (one from a prof, one from my boss, I'm a legal assistant, still in undergrad). I'm waiting on a 3rd LOR from another prof who likes me, but I only had one class with. He hasn't responded to 3 e-mails. So I have a feeling nothing is going to happen any time soon. Should i submit with the 2 letters to my reaches (3.9/164: UT Austin, Cornell, UofM, Fordham) or should I wait? Or if I should late does it even matter because its too late?

Thanks? I'm kind of freaking out. I recently realized that I really want to go to UT but it looks like the new T14 status is working against me.

Don't wait for the 3rd LOR. UT only requires you to submit ONE!

Submit your applications now. This is a down year with respect to numbers of applicants. A 3.9/164 should receive serious consideration at those law schools, although Texas is limited to 35% non-residents. A third letter of recommendation isn't likely to affect your chances for admission absent extraordinary circumstances.

Why do so many people seem to think they need to send more than two LORs?

Admissions reps openly admit that LORs don't make any difference unless they are either negative or exceptionally positive. If anything, 3+ probably just annoys them, since it means more (unnecessary) reading.

So, answering the question: definitely don't wait. Everyone else here is right.
