So, how many of you dapper gentlemen would wear a bow tie to court or to an interview?

I would... if I were Black, and a member of the Nation of Islam. Or, maybe if I were 85 years old.

Without having any idea whether or not such behavior is appropriate, let me go ahead and say that I would absolutely wear a bowtie to an interview, and indeed, that I already have twice.
I'm pretty sure bowties don't generally qualify as office wear, but I could be wrong. Either way, I'll be rocking them as long as I can.

FWIW, if I were a hiring manager, bowtie would be an auto ding.

Yeah I should have clarified: not to a hiring interview, but to an admissions interview.

If I were an interviewer, I would reject anyone who lacks the common sense to realize that wearing a bowtie is a bad idea. If I were an admissions person, I would make a note to reject anyone who lacks the common sense to realize that wearing a bowtie is a bad idea. Unless you are John Paul Stevens, then no bowtie.

for what it's worth.
No way would I wear a bowtie to an interview.
However, having spent to much time in courthouses, I have seen many attorney's wear bowties.
About the only adults I have ever seen bowties except on formal or funny party situations have been attorneys.
I even started asking some of them about it. Never got much of an answer except for a couple.
Distinctive yet formal. Well I've seen other wearing them and wanted to switch it up.

In which part of the United States are attorneys wearing bowties to court?? I'm assuming these were all partners or solos. Otherwise, it seems like these guys run the risk of being told by partners and/or clients to take it off and put on a tie. I think it also displays questionable judgment.

I wouldn't wear a bow tie in these situations, but not because it is wrong from a fashion sense, but because it looks like you didn't think things through well enough. If you have to ask yourself "will they get it?" about what you're wearing, stop. Don't wear it.
I own several bow ties and wear them, even to work. I'm a little older than most of you though and I have a full beard, so it looks decent the way I dress. It's just no appropriate for these types of things. In the legal world, the only people who should be wearing them are judges, partners (not for court), solos (not for court), and law professors. Realistically, your whole attire should like like you're a bow tie kind of guy. Don't wear a red bow tie with a charcoal suit and white shirt. You look like a waiter.

I hate that we live in a world where bowties are no longer acceptable.

The judge wasn't in support of it. That's all that matters.
