I am a non-trad student. Was reading through the What are my chances threads and found this one...http://www.top-law-schools.com/forums/v ... 9&t=170830

Can someone please explain the rule of when LSAC stops collecting undergrad grades?

I went off and on PT to my local school since 2005 and accumulated about 24 credits~(2.0 GPA), just in the last 12 months I have gone FT and have added 33 credits~(3.25 GPA).

At what point in time does the cut-off end? My last 4 semesters have been progressively better. And I am shooting for a 3.4 overall. Will it even matter for me to finish my last year with a 3.75-4.0? Will that year or last semester even help my numbers for Law school?

It'll help if you apply after graduation.

They stop counting it after your first degree

They stop when your first BA/BS confers. If you do two simultaneously, they count credits up until one of them confers.

My advice would be to drag out your UG education a little if you can afford it. Get two degrees, take a lot of electives that are easy, etc. Law schools won't care what you took, but all of those 2.0 credits will count against you. There's no "Age limit" or grade that is too old to count, but once you get a bachelor's degree, your GPA is set in stone.

I'll have to disagree with you on this one Opie. There is a time limit.

After 10 FT semesters they cut you off. I'm not sure if they use # of semesters or credit hours attempted as the cutoff though.

Although TLS' opinion seems to be different, this guy sounds like he went through it while we're just making assumptions.
