So the app for IU requires you to submit a residence classification form, even if you aren't claiming Indiana residency. They give you a PDF, tell you print it, fill it out, and scan it to one of the following file formats: DOC, HTM, HTML, TXT, WP, WPD, RTF, WPS, WPT, or DOCX.

I'm not sure if it's just my scanner, but I am unable to scan to anything that isn't some sort of image file, which the IU application doesn't support.

Has anyone been able to circumvent this problem? Is there a program I need to download or something?

Is this to submit as part of the LSAC application?

I didn't apply to IU, but had a similar problem with another school.

Scan it as a JPG and then insert that JPG in to a word file.

You should be able to crop the edges off the JPG so that it fits without needing to be shrunk.

It is part of the LSAC application. A royal pain, if you ask me. Seems kind of pointless for non-residents, but oh well.
