Is Michigan possible?

I have checked LSN and there aren't really too many data points to help. LSP isn't too helpful for splitters. I still am finishing UG, but my GPA will be somewhere around 3.1-3.2 in all likelihood, and my LSAT currently is a 173. Do I have a chance at Michigan with a Why Michigan? essay? Any other suggestions also welcome. Thanks.

You definitely have a chance. Write a good Why Michigan and I think you stand a good shot at getting in.
Good luck!

Thanks for the response! Any other opinions? Other places to look? Just trying to maximize my eventual career prospects by going to the best school possible.

If you're trying to improve your chances, you should move to Detroit

Seriously though, MI residents get a boost of some sort. Other than that the only thing you can do is write a good "Why Michigan" and PS. That being said, I think Michigan can be kind of a crap shoot (for splitters).
Definitely respond if they ask for a follow up or if they waitlist you though.

Ha, thanks. Unfortunately moving to Michigan is not possible right now. I definitely will keep on top of any additional info requests from them.

Haha thank you for the response, I do not hate UVa. I am also considering EDing there, and would be applying to UMich RD regardless. Can't do the summer start and believe all EDs must? Anyway, I would rather be somewhere in the Midwest for LS, ideally Chicago, but with no WE im pretty much auto ding at NW. I hope to get into UVa, but I just like Michigan more. Personal preference I guess. With my GPA I would be thrilled with any MVP acceptance, and would also be happy if I got into just GTown. I am curious to see as to how your cylce will turn out, where are you applying? Have you heard anywhere yet? PM if you'd like.

If you can't do the summer start, you can't ED. Period.

I appreciate the response, but what I was saying was that I am considering EDing to UVa, and will be applying to UMich RD
regardless because I thought that all ED admits had to do summer start, which I couldn't do. How do you feel about my chances with the rest of my app being at least solid (I know no humanly possible softs are great)? What other schools would you be looking at in this situation for RD only? Thanks

Everywhere down to Wash U. Wash U you're essentially auto admit with half ride.

Anyone else get a feeling on how a 3.1-3.2 173 does at UMich this cycle?
