Apply now!
Applying early is a much bigger advantage than applying later with a slightly higher GPA (especially since you'll probably be below 25% at every school you're applying to anyway.)
Just be sure to submit your new transcript to LSAC right away when it's available.
Good luck!

I actually might disagree with you minn, but only because some schools have a GPA floor. If I were you, OP, I'd check LSN to see if schools I was interested in had admitted people under 3.0 before and figure out if my LSAC GPA could really end up above that.

Good point. OP, barring a GPA floor- apply.

If you apply now, include a note/addendum indicating that your GPA should rise to at least a 3.0 after this semester. Both of the above posters are correct, in my opinion, but a sub-3.0 GPA will garner attention.

So my best plan of action is to apply now and include an addendum and then have the grades immediately sent in December?

I don't know whether to recommend waiting or applying now because of the obvious competing considerations of early advantage versus below-floor GPA. If you apply now, include a GPA addendum.
