Top Law Schools

I score a 151 on LSAT, have a 3.6 GPA from good school...should I apply to a few safety schools and retake LSAT in December and apply to top 25 after? It would like applying in two separate intervals as two separate candidates (sort of - not exactly). Is this possible? Does anyone have any feedback? I'd like to get into, say, a Southwestern in Los Angeles during my first cycle of applying...bad idea?

Also, how does transferring from one school to another work, in general?

Ugh, I have to make a decision ASAP and need some good advice.

Start standard advice-
Don't go to law school with that LSAT. Retake until you can get at least a 165 and make it to a good regional, or aim even higher.
End standard advice.

Take a year off man. Going to a law school with those numbers just isn't worth the debt/career prospects combo. Go try to make it in your second career, if you still want to be a lawyer, retake until you can get top 25, at least.
