Question about GPA

So I've managed to get into my senior year of UG with a 4.0, but it seems things have finally caught up with me - it's not inconceivable that I'll manage to keep all A's again, but it definitely looks unlikely. Having sent in all of my applications between two weeks and a month ago, I'm assuming at least some schools will have made their decision before this semester's grades post in mid-late December. My question is, if a target or reach school that accepts me sees a small drop in my GPA, would they retract an acceptance? I can't imagine getting more than one or two B's as things stand now, but I suppose a 3.9 is about the worst-case scenario.

Thanks for any input! I'm sorry if this was a little long-winded. Or a fit of hair-splitting paranoia, haha.

Edit: I scored a 163 on the LSAT, so I guess these would be any acceptances T40-up or so. If that makes any difference.

I'm sure this isn't what you want to hear but you should REALLY consider retaking the LSAT so you don't waste that great GPA.

Yeah, I strongly considered retaking a couple of weeks ago - even bought some different prep books than the last time around. Kind of a good thing I didn't, though - this semester has been brutal to the point of being ridiculous, haha. I barely have time for sleep these days, much less LSAT prep lol

You really should retake. What schools are you looking at specifically?

If I were you, I would ED to Northwestern and not apply to anywhere else (I like Northwestern though). If you don't get in, sit out a year and study and work. Take a prep class or whatever. If you can get that to 170 you are looking at MVP. 172-3 is CCN. 175 and you have a shot at HYS. 12 points is a lot, especially those 12 points; but if you can do it, you need to.

Mmhmm I didnt ED anywhere, so thats definitely an option if Im not happy with my choices...

I guess my real question though is whether schools would retract an admission for a minor GPA drop? Its not as if Im going to come close to failing anything, but I wouldnt be helping their median as much either

I am 99% sure that they wouldn't rescind an offer/take away scholarship from a drop from a 4.0 to a 3.9. This would not affect their median at all.

Hey,

I have a related question. Do they have to know about your GPA? My understanding was that you apply with a certain GPA and that you do not necessarily send them an update. Do they require you to send them the newest transcript as soon as the updates become available? I am sure they ask you for a final transcript upon graduation, but I thought that is all.

Thanks.
