It's the GPA as a whole because that's the number the schools report. Anybody who told you different has no idea what they are talking about. An upward trend in your last two years can be a small soft factor but don't count on it helping you outperform your numbers.

Entire undergraduate GPA as calculated by LSAC for US law schools; Most Canadian law schools, however, do drop an applicant's lowest grades.

A whole semester? I have all 4.0's and one 0.00 semester, damn it'd be nice if US schools were like Canadian in this matter if so lol

Why? Seems unpatriotic to me. Glad I am from the school of hard knocks in the USA.
