I didn't apply to Northwestern, because their interview was boring, and I felt they'd wasted my time. Not exactly the same, but I like where your head is at.

And now that you mention the Penn website thing... maybe that contributed to why I didn't apply. Hmmm.

Frankly, I think this is an idiotic reason. Law school training doesn't involve web design. I do understand your frustration,but I would ignore a problem with a poorly designed web site. Now if the school had a major in interactive design ( which is basically web design) then I might be more concerned.

However, for what it's worth, I agree that schools should spend the money on having an easily navigatable quality web site. Some, however, just don't understand what that means.

I definitely didn't do this when applying to law schools, but I have been turned off by a firm's bad website design. While you have 500 attorneys working on the most sophisticated transactions in the country, if your website makes you look like an ambulance-chasing shop, I'm going to think twice about applying.

Wait a sec... I may be missing something crucial here. I thought you can know what each law schools wants just looking under the applications on the LSAC website... huh.. i'm super confused now. Don't they have a bar where it says "attachments" and basically that's all you need to attach when applying???

LoL. My issue is that it resembles a "wanted" poster from the wild wild west with the bolds/highlights/italics and neverending text!


To OP- many law schools do not have much control over their websites. Some are handled by the central university. Others have an IT department but just don't spend a ton of money on the site.
