I have finally decided that I can no longer contain myself. It is time for reverse splitters to rise up and take back TLS. Reverse splitters, take pride in the fact that you took undergrad seriously (not a shot at splitters who took undergrad seriously and their gpas don't reflect it as well) and it can be shown in substantive numbers. Feel confident about your cycle because your above 75th percentile gpa can inch up your prospective school's 75th percentile gpa. Turn the other cheek when EE splitters dismiss the rigor of underwater basket weaving. This is all about pride!

Reverse Splitter = <165/>3.8

Semi-Reverse Splitter = 165-169/>3.8

Reverse splitters are kind of unique in that it really depends on what school you're trying to target.

If your goal is Harvard, then a 169 / 4.0 is a reverse splitter. If your goal is WUSTL, then a 162 / 4.0 is a reverse splitter.

Reverse splitter just means that you are above a school's 75th% GPA and at or below a school's 25% LSAT. (Or, depending on who you ask, below median LSAT).

I was in this boat for many of the T14 schools last year. Cycle Summary: In every my LSAT was at or above the 25% (except Stanford), out / WL everywhere it wasn't.

I set the top of the reverse-splitter breed at 169, since 170 is the median at VPDN (M is the sole 169), the minimum threshhold of schools which the vast majority of TLSers can agree are "good" and offer "good prospects.

This will definitely be me once I get my LSAT score back. I'm trying to decide whether I should ED to UVA or not. Getting locked into attending a certain school if accepted kind of makes me nervous, plus I would get no scholarship money, but it may be my only shot at T14. I don't know.

You can use LSN to pretty accurately predict what scholarships you can expect from schools based on your numbers. UVA will not give you money RD if you're below median LSAT anyway, if that's any consolation.

If your next best bet would be worth taking over UVA, then don't ED. Although the only things I could think of that would be better than sticker at UVA would be good money at Vandy / UCLA / UT or a full ride at a T20 / maaaaybe T30 in your choice market. UVA is still probably better though.

duckmoney, mind telling us your numbers, undergrad type, URM information, etc, to give us a good idea of what your cycle was like? If not I would appreciate a PM

I am a "semi-reverse splitter" and am in at UVA via ED. My stats are a 165 with a 3.91 LSAC GPA.

I chose to ED as I love UVA and it was my no.1 choice. I have never met a UVA grad that did not love the school. Also, I am former Army and still have Post 9/11 GI Bill benefits for the first year of law school (yay for taking 20 credits a semester in UG). So I will have about $29,500 knocked off my tuition as well as a stipend worth about $10,000 for my first year. After that I will have to borrow, but I feel that with the job prospects at UVA and their new loan forgiveness program it is worth the risk.
