Top Law Schools

I've searched on here but can't really find a solid answer.

There's a law fair at a school near me next week, is it worth it to go? It's not at actual LSAC one but there's a decent number of schools there, some of which I have already applied to and some that I plan on applying to.

Has anyone been to one and is it worth the time?

Absolutely not worth the time. They hand out the same stuff that you can just look up on their websites.

You may be able to snag some free stuff (e.g. pens, note-pads) but other than that I wouldn't bother.

I got yellow and blue M&Ms from Michigan, oh and a fee waiver. After going to two fairs that is the only fee waiver I have been given. I actually really like them and exactly sure what sort of worth you are looking for.

Law fairs are absolutely worth it! I snagged about 15-20 fee waivers from law fairs a couple of years ago and that goes a long way in application fees. Point that I'm trying to make is that you can save hundreds of dollars by going to these.

This. Fee waivers and face time with adcom member can help.

Mainly fee waivers. Some schools hand them out like candy at these things.

Any tips on getting the most free waivers possible?

Face time with an adcom? Do you honestly believe they care enough, or even have the ability, to really remember anyone of the hundreds or thousands of students they meet at those things? Fee waivers sound 50/50 depending on the fair. If you have nothing better do to, its probably worth checking out. But class, homework, and social life should take precedence.

Not worth it. Unless you want to beg for fee waivers.

How would one approach a school at one of these fairs for a fee waiver? "Hey, so I kinda wanna apply - wanna make it free for me?"

Ask a bunch of obvious questions that you could probably answer from TLS/their website and hope they have some fee waiver cards???

You should go for a chance at fee waivers, as others have said.

And to get them, just ask. You can beat around the bush a little ("I would love to apply to your school, but with the LSAC fees and the school fees, I can only apply to so many...") or be direct ("Law school application fees are expensive; I would definitely apply to your school, however, if provided with a fee waiver!"). Either way, the adcomm probably won't remember you unless you really pester them about it, so it's worth a try.
