Disability statement...how long? theme advice

I am adding a disability statement for my chronic illness but was wondering about length. Any advice? Should there be a theme of some sort such as emphasizing overcoming the limitations of my illness to make sure they understand that I am ready, willing, and able to dedicate myself to school?
Thanks.

When you write a statement of this sort you'll want to be sure that it reflects you as a person. I think that themes can be effective, especially if it runs through your entire application, including your letters of recommendation, personal statement, etc. But, another thing that can be very effective is to focus in on one specific moment and to really expose that moment for what it was and then to show how you handled it.

Just to make sure we're on all the same page, "DS" stands for diversity statement.
Addenda should almost always be one page or less.

Hey, should I write the disability story on my personal statement, diversity statement, or addendum?
Thank you for your reply!
