ED at Chicago or not worth it? 167, 3.72, UChicago alum

Hey, I guess I'm asking this because my pre-law adviser doesn't think it's too important to answer my emails.
I'm a University of Chicago alum, and will be in London this year studying for a MS in Global Migration. I would like to go to Chicago law, but don't quite have the numbers- 167, 3.72
My question is whether you think an ED application on Sep1 at Chicago will give me the boost I need, or whether I should just do ED somewhere where my numbers look a little better. I'm pretty confident in my resume and personal statement, and I'm hoping the grad school soft factor is a positive, along with my alumni status.
Thanks for any advice you may have.

Lol pre-law advisors are useless.
You're not getting in ED with those numbers.

If you want Chicago you should retake.

Ha, that was simple. Thanks.
Though if anyone else has any positive advice, I'll take that too.

@bk187- I never really thought seriously of retaking, I was pre-testing around 170-175, so I thought 167 wasn't that bad.

Retake if you want T14. If you don't want to retake, then enjoy T20/T30 with $.
If you're practice testing around 170-175 then you should retake. You scored well below your average, which means that you probably underperformed.

167 isn't bad per se, but since schools just take your higher score and admissions is fairly numbers based, a few points means a huge difference. Take a look at people on
http://www.lawschoolnumbers.com with your GPA who have a 167 and then take a look at people with your GPA who have a 170 and then a 173. Retaking is quite a worthwhile investment since you have little to lose (if you score worse it won't hurt your application).

Typical of attention paid towards undergrads at UChicago. You should retake if you want UChicago Law. From what I've heard, a boost from your UG usually goes towards your GPA, not your LSAT.

Chicago's numbers aren't out yet, but NYU's 25th/75ths were 170/174 and something like 3.57/3.85? I could be wrong on those GPAs. Either way, CCN isn't looking at you with a 167.

If you were pre-testing in that range, I would do whatever it takes to take the LSAT again if I were you. I know it probably sucks to put time into it twice, but even if you hit the bottom of that range, a 170-171 + your GPA will increase your chances (both at admission and scholarships) drastically.

Can anyone confirm these new lsat numbers for NYU (25th and 75th percentiles)...where were they posted, because I know last year's lsat was 169/175?
Thanks.

What are the grade point averages and LSAT scores of your students?
The 75% and 25% of the most recent entering class are 3.9 and 3.6 for undergraduate GPA, and 175 and 169 for LSAT score, respectively.

I was just commenting on ahduth's post where it was said that the new numbers are 170 and 174. I was wondering if this information was possibly given out during this summer's orientation or released on another website, and that the 169/175 might be outdated (even if nyu has those numbers on its website).

I think this info was given out in this year's orientation; their website has not yet been updated to reflect the percentiles/medians for the class of 2014. So we won't be able to corroborate this unless some other NYU students chime in.

Yeah, 170/174 is for incoming 1Ls. I imagine they'll update the website at some point. They also announced that someone joined the class off the waitlist on the second day of orientation (August 25th I think). Consider staying on your waitlists.
