How many people do you know went to law school just 'cause?

I would say 6/10 people I've met went to law school for one of the following reasons:
1) Their parents wanted them to
2) Didn't know what else to do, but they heard a J.D. could get "open up doors," but had no intentions of becoming an attorney
3) Wanted to go into politics (someone told me she wanted to become the President of Mexico and needed to go to a U.S. law school to do so first)
4) Just wanted a prestigious degree that was higher than a Bachelors
Are the people that usually go to law school for these reasons the students/lawyers that are usually miserable with their lives and write the "FML" lawyer blogs?
