Specific Question on ED Scenario...

Let's say that a person is 100% sure they want to attend a certain school. Now, while they would like the boost of the ED (and would feel comfortable locking themselves to that school), they don't want to sabotage their chances of getting scholarships, assuming that a school would be less likely to give generous scholarships to ED applicants, as there is no need to curry the favor of those applicants.
So, if a student has a median GPA, is there a certain LSAT threshold where they should opt for the ED benefit while not worrying about loss of scholarships? Like if a student had a median LSAT, he probably wouldn't get significant scholarships so he should enjoy the ED boost.
Anyone have a sense of this?
