A regular envelope will work just fine.

The colleges are going to get photocopies. I don't see why there would be any need to worry about LSAC's impression of your tri-folds.

A pink envelope decorated with pictures of butterflies and flowers.
Hopefully, you have put as much thought and consideration to law school and the jobs issue.

LSAC sends your whole package to them in electronic format. You can preview most of it yourself as a PDF (minus the LORs, of course) before you submit a final app to a school. I assume the LORs are just scanned and included in the electronic package.
And even if they weren't, a business envelope is fine. Your transcripts also probably arrive in an business envelope.
