Splitters: Have any with a C or D grade gotten into a T10?

Have there been any instances where a high LSAT/low GPA splitter who had a C or even D on his/her transcript (say from the 1st year of college due to a poor start) got admitted to a Top 10? Or, is it safe to say that any grade of D or F, even if the LSAC GPA turns out to be say 3.4, will preclude this from being possible?

Well I got a C and I'm going into my Junior year with a 3.8, and a chance to bring that up to a 3.86 with a good year, and I am prepping at 170+.

If I were to get a 172+ and keep up my gpa, along with a good rest of the application, I'm pretty sure one T10 school would accept me.

I think it will be your overall GPA that matters. This same topic comes up re: law school grades (i.e. someone who has an overall fairly strong GPA worried about getting no job offers because they have an outlier like a D); the feedback that I remember seeing in that context is that it is the overall GPA that is most important.

But a 3.4 puts you in rough territory for a T10 (or even T14) regardless of what dragged it down to that level. But do well enough on the LSAT and it is still possible.

Yes, overall GPA is pretty much all that matters. I got a C in Physiology (why did I listen to my med school bound friends that it was easy), and in linguistics (alarm didn't go off and missed half of the exam) and got into NYU.
