Does the whole country view ASU undergrad as being less challenging than most? Will it hurt me on the application?

Undergrad prestige has almost zero effect, unless a school is comparing a Princeton grad to, like, a University of Phoenix grad.

ASU's academic rigor is like most other state schools: not hard but also not a joke. ASU's fairly bad reputation comes from the fact that it is so easy to get in and so many Californians (most of whom were rejected from the UC system) attend. Both of these make a huge student body (largest or second largest in the country) that is full of fairly unimpressive people.

I was just making fun of PSL as the TTTT it is. All the smart ones transfer to ASU after 1L and the rest are stuck with no jerb prospects. PSL has decent instructors (who wouldn't take a check?) and I am sure the quality of legal education is fine, just nobody will hire them. Prestige matters.

ASU undergrad is ground zero for people gunning for law. The people are below average, the A's are plentiful, A+ is available in almost every class. The only hit you take is that the institution is not well respected, which is not very important when you have a 4.1 LSAC GPA.

As far as law schools are concerned, its just as well respected as any non Ivy or Ivy equivalent, law schools just do not give a f*** about which undergrad you went to for the most part. Cheap 4.3 for the win.

I say the same thing. I think undergrad quality might be a tiebreaker for those on the margin, but it generally does not matter. Another trick I have seen is to go to an alternative Pass/Fail school for two years, transfer to ASU and rock that 4.2 for the remainder. LSAC GPA= 4.2 and nobody in the admissions office cares because it raises their medians.
