Do you need it after UG? Honestly, I busted my ass this last year of undergrad and will be doing the same this year. What if I just live at home with my parents, read books, and study for the LSAT for a year? Will adcoms care?

Depends on your LSAT/GPA.

As I just mentioned in another thread, it could matter for jobs/clerkships after law school.

How does it depend on LSAT and GPA? I've will have between a 3.88 - 3.95 when I graduate, and I am looking for an LSAT in the 170's. B, S, and H are at the top of my list.

How will B, S, and H judge idle time?

Just speculation but I'm sure they get tons of applicants with similar numbers and resumes filled with interestin work experience

It depends on the combination of LSAT/GPA, and the school you're applying to. For instance, for a 171/2.9, work experience would be very important for someone trying to get into Northwestern. For someone with a 174/3.95, work experience that's good enough could get you Y or S, which are both unpredictable and go beyond just numbers. If you have a low GPA, a lot of great WE will put distance between you and your undergrad years. Etc.

Why would you want to do this? Maybe you are a bit burnedout now. I can't imagine that after you graduate UG you will be happy just sitting at home, reading and studying for the LSAT. You should have more than this in your life, even if you just volunteer at a soup kitchen or do some other volunteer work. You will have a blank line on your resume for that year.
