Undergrad GPA trend matter?

So I know that there are a lot of politics involved in admissions with schools wanting to inflate their admitted students' GPA/LSAT scores, so maybe this is a dumb question, but will schools consider an upward trend in GPA positively in any way?
I finished with a 3.63, but I 3.0ed my freshman year because I didn't take school seriously. After freshman year, I never got below a 3.5, and 4.0ed almost every class.
I also ask, because the school I want to apply to (GWU) seems to really take GPA into consideration. For me, I would need at least a 166/167 LSAT to be admitted.
